Are you raising the next generation of business innovators? Altona’s R Biz Camp is calling all young visionaries aged 9 to 13 for a one-of-a-kind summer camp experience designed to educate, empower, and excite rural youth about the world of entrepreneurship.
Why R Biz Camp is the Perfect Summer Camp for Young Entrepreneurs
R Biz Camp, also known as Camp Entrepreneur, is more than just a fun week away from home—it’s a hands-on learning opportunity built to spark interest in business and innovation among rural youth. Hosted in Altona and backed by the Altona District Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Community Futures Triple R, this unique camp offers young minds the tools and experience they need to explore entrepreneurship as a viable and exciting career path.
Let’s take a closer look at how this camp brings together education, real-world experience, and fun to create future-ready leaders.
An Educational Foundation in Entrepreneurship
Inspiring Youth Through Knowledge
Throughout the camp week, participants dive deep into the essentials of entrepreneurship. Kids explore:
- What it means to be an entrepreneur
- How to brainstorm and validate business ideas
- Creating strong first impressions
- The importance of body language and presentation
- Sales techniques and positive attitudes
Campers also gain a beginner-friendly introduction to cash flow management, understanding the basics of revenue vs. expenses, and how to structure a basic business plan. By the end of the week, every camper walks away with a deeper understanding of how to turn an idea into a profitable venture.
Learning by Doing: Hands-On Business Experience
Turning Ideas Into Action
R Biz Camp doesn’t stop at theory. Each camper develops a product idea and prepares it for market. This practical approach allows young entrepreneurs to experience the real-world process of:
- Ideation
- Branding
- Pricing
- Customer interaction
- Sales strategy
On the final day of camp, kids showcase their products at the Biz Camp Market, hosted at the Altona Mall, or at a local farmers’ market. It’s a moment of pride—and a real-world lesson in entrepreneurship.
A Week of Fun and Community Connection
More Than Business—It’s Summer Fun!
While the camp has a strong focus on education and experience, it also offers a camp-style environment filled with games, laughter, and exploration. Some of the exciting recreational activities include:
- Indoor and outdoor games
- Local business tours
- A fun-filled afternoon at the pool
- A townwide scavenger hunt
The camp is carefully structured to keep kids engaged while making learning fun and approachable.
